Why spoken Japanese?

That is what Japanese people speak and is used in anime, Japanese films, etc.

It is culturally different from written language taught at language schools and through textbooks.

You are learning written language if you are studying grammar.

Grammar does not help much with spoken Japanese because it is for written Japanese.

That means you must learn spoken Japanese if you are already learning the 'written' language.

Speaking in written Japanese can unintentionally offend people, even though you are using polite language - it can be too 'assertive'.

The Cultural Input Method

No textbooks or language learning apps.

No emphasis on grammar or the writing system.

No rote learning of vocabulary.

To understand spoken Japanese,

you need to understand

Japanese Culture.

"Language acquisition comes from input,

not output;

from comprehension, not production."
