That is what Japanese people speak and is used in anime, Japanese films, etc., but it's not widely taught.
What you learn at conventional language schools and through textbooks is something close to written Japanese.
Written language is culturally different from spoken language and isn't helpful if you want to speak and understand spoken Japanese.
That means you must learn spoken Japanese if you are already learning the 'written' language.
Speaking in written Japanese can unintentionally offend people, even though you may be using polite language - it can be too 'assertive'.
You will learn:
▪️How Japanese functions culturally.
"Learning a new language is becoming a member of the club – the community of speakers of that language.”
not output;
from comprehension, not production."
